Por qué se sabe tan poco sobre las causas y los efectos de las migrañas
Afectan a una de cada cinco mujeres y son la segunda causa de incapacidad laboral, pero la investigación sobre estos agudos dolores de cabeza sigue siendo poca y los fondos que recibe resultan escasos. ¿A qué se debe?
La primera vez que sufrí una migraña fue una tarde después de salir del colegio.
Una pequeña molestia en la cabeza terminó convirtiéndose en un dolor insoportable, que nubló mi visión y convirtió la luz que había en el cuarto en fuente de pura agonía.
Entonces llegó el vómito.
Es un ciclo que he vivido innumerables veces en los últimos años. Una de esas veces, la migraña me obligó a renunciar a mi trabajo y quedarme con la sensación de que ya nada me podía ayudar.
Pero mientras un simple dolor de cabeza se puede pasar con una aspirina o un ibuprofeno, la migraña es agresiva y puede terminar debilitando a quien la sufre.

JULY 2018: Priests and their Pastoral Ministry
The tiredness of priests... Do you know how often I think about it? Priests, with their virtues and defects, work in many different areas. Working on so many active fronts, they cannot remain inactive after a disappointment. At such times, it's good for them to remember that the people love their priests, need them, and trust in them. Let us pray together that priests, who experience fatigue and loneliness in their pastoral work, may find help and comfort in their intimacy with the Lord and in their friendship with their brother priests.
